Hall & Hart is expanding its design and construct services to include major renovations and outdoor living, including pools and landscaping, across Sydney’s established suburbs.

For some families, the existing home may need too much repair, or be too compromised in layout, to justify a large-scale renovation. In those instances, a new home can make more commercial sense. However, for many others, renovation can be the right pathway, particularly where the home has heritage importance, architectural character, good structure, or a backyard full of untapped potential. In these cases, the value lies in retaining and enhancing the architecture, interiors, proportion and function of the original home.

The decision to move further into renovations also comes from the conversations we are already having with clients. In some instances, a knockdown rebuild is not the right pathway, and our advice has been to consider renovation instead. Previously, that often meant stepping away from families we still felt we could help.

This next chapter allows us to play a more meaningful role in transforming existing homes and backyards. It gives us the opportunity to help families stay in the places they already love, while creating spaces that bring more function, connection and enjoyment to everyday life.

Renovations often involve more moving parts than a new build. Existing structures, planning considerations, staged decisions, budget management, construction constraints and the relationship between old and new all need to be carefully considered. This is where our design and construct model can add genuine value.

By bringing design, interiors, planning, estimating, construction, pools and landscaping into one coordinated process, we can help clients make decisions with greater clarity from the beginning.

While custom homes remain a strong part of our business, this next chapter allows us to support families across both pathways: creating a new home, or reworking an existing one to feel more resolved, functional and suited to the way they live.

We are already applying this approach on a renovation project in Frenchs Forest, where the existing home is being extended outdoors through a new pool, landscaping and alfresco living area.
