How The Latest Change in Restrictions Affect Your Home Building Journey
While Australia continues to live through Government restrictions to flatten the coronavirus curve, our team is still available to assist you in your home building journey.
We are still here for you.
The Premier confirmed this week that the lockdown for Greater Sydney will be extended for four more weeks, to end on 28 August with tighter restrictions across eight local government areas. These eight restricted LGA’s are Fairfield, Blacktown, Cumberland, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Parramatta and Georges River.. The Premier has also announced that some types of building work can recommence on 31 July.
Please see below how the new, extended lockdown for Greater Sydney, announced on the 28 July, 2021 will affect you in your home building journey with us.
New to building?
If you are considering Hall & Hart to manage your new home build we are still operating in line with the Government restrictions and taking appointments via our website, phone, email and virtual meetings.
- Our head office in Parramatta is now closed with staff operating on a 4-day working week (Monday – Thursday) and successfully working from home. All phone calls can still be made to head office, as they will be diverted to home or mobile phones.
- Our display homes are closed to visitors with all meetings and tender presentations being conducted via video conferencing. Based on recent customer feedback our video conferencing meetings have proven to be very effective. Although our display homes are closed you can access a 3D virtual walkthroughof all of our display homes through our website and also book a private COVID safe appointment.
Building with us?
If you are an existing customer who is about to begin your design and selections journey or currently progressing through it, our project managers, interior designers, drafting, estimators and all other administrative duties are continuing to work on your home to ensure that disruption to your project is minimised during this period. Your dedicated project manager will keep you informed on the best way to move forward depending on where you are within the selections process.
Is your home in construction?
If your build is in construction, under the new restrictions, work can recommence on home building sites in local government areas not listed as restricted local government areas. The eight restricted local government areas are Fairfield, Blacktown, Cumberland, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Parramatta and Georges River. Therefore Hall & Hart will be returning to operations on sites outside of these LGA’s from this coming Saturday, 31 July.
While positive news and an important first step there are still major constraints on how effectively we can progress work on individual projects in the short to medium term, the biggest one being access to trades, many who reside in the impacted LGA’s and who are not permitted to work.
Your dedicated construction supervisor will keep you informed on how your individual project will be progressing forward under these new restrictions.
Further, Hall & Hart's operational status very much depends on the broader Sydney LGA's remaining open. Should we find ourselves in the unfortunate circumstance of additional LGA's being forced into lockdown, then our operational status will likely change. So please be aware our position can change depending on the restrictions that the NSW government announces.
Hall & Hart recognises that the impact of COVID-19 has been significant on our customers, suppliers, tradespeople, consultants, staff and families. Please be safe during this period and we can’t thank you enough for your patience as we continuously look to operate during an extremely difficult period for the construction industry. We will regularly keep you updated with any further changes that may affect your home over the coming months.
