Given this hard work and dedication, we were thrilled to be finalists in three categories at the Master Builders Association (MBA) 2020 Excellence in Housing Awards, held virtually on Friday, October 9th.
NSW’s most prestigious residential building awards, celebrate excellence, innovation and quality in construction. The judges consider a broad cross-section of the industry, from project home builders to contractors and specialty builders.
The three Hall & Hart Homes selected as finalists are a great snapshot of the versatility that we offer to clients.
Award Category #1: Display Homes $600,001 - $800,000 | Soho 35 (Modern Façade)
It’s no wonder our custom display home made such an impression on the judges; it’s the essence of affordable luxury for families that love to entertain. It features sleek architectural lines, raw products such as timber and black steel, with warm concrete finishes.
On display at HomeWorld Marsden Park, the double-storied Soho uses space cleverly. The open-plan dining room, kitchen and living room create a focal point of energy for the entire house, with a gorgeous stairway leading to four spacious bedrooms upstairs.
This is a true entertainer’s house, with a ‘Grand Alfresco’ dining area adjoining the open plan, which extends the space and gives it the feel of a much larger area. The Soho has all the features of a much bigger family home, optimised by our designers for smaller blocks of land.

Award Category #2: Design & Construct $500,001 - $1M | Custom
We reached the finals of this second competitive category with this gorgeous custom coastal home that we built on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Its enviable, relaxed sophistication is perfect for the location.
Our team worked extremely closely with the client to customise our standard design for the complex block and to suit the family’s evolving lifestyle. For example, we moved the location of the rumpus room and the alfresco area to optimise the block’s stunning views, plus ‘future-proofed’ the layout for privacy.
When creating a ‘forever home’, selections are key. Our dedicated interior designers at Studio You helped the client achieve their dream aesthetic of modern coastal chic, working closely with them on the design and selection of fixtures, materials and colour palettes.
Award Category: Contract Houses $800,001 - $1M | Elyse 48 Modern
Finally, we reached the finals for a third time with this stunning, ultra-modern home in the Hills district of Sydney.
Our Elyse design was customised for a difficult sloping block. The cantilevered roof over the balcony provides clear space underneath without any supporting column or bracing, opening up the balcony to views of the surrounding bushland.
The Nouveau façade of this impressive 48 sqm home is distinctive and contemporary, as are the sleek finishes and fixtures throughout. With a gorgeous sense of space, it truly is a forever home that is perfect for a growing family.
