See a Stunning Australian Home with Calming Spaces and Natural Light
Great design has a symbiotic relationship with its surroundings. The Australian lifestyle and climate calls for homes with which allow natural light, a strong emphasis on nature and room to move - which is why Hall & Hart’s ‘Clifton’ home is such a perfect fit.
On display at HomeWorld Box Hill, this home is a standout for its modern, geometric shapes and large windows, which allow natural light to take centre stage. The flowing design creates a calm environment and a connection with the environment.
Hall & Hart were thrilled to receive a sought-after award at the 2021 Excellence in Housing Awards hosted by the prestigious Master Builders. The awards took place on Saturday, 12th September at the glamours Star Casino in Sydney.
The prize was awarded to the Clifton ‘Modern’ design in the Display Home Category $700,001 - $800,000. The Clifton was also awarded a finalist for the Display Home of the Year.
Let’s take a closer look at why the judges have been swept away by the Clifton…
Tranquil Balance
Long-lasting design is about balance, which is achieved in the Clifton by juxtaposing clean sharp lines with the softness of timber joinery. The geometric patterns used in the architecture also echo shapes found in nature, with brickwork providing an interesting contrast.
An open plan layout on the ground floor means that the kitchen, dining, alfresco area and family room flow into each other, creating an uplifting sense of space that makes this home very special.
That openness is balanced by the straight staircase leading up from the dining area to the first floor of the house; a stunning visual contrast that draws the eye.
It gives the Clifton a modern feel which is perfectly on trend with international design directions. Space is key, as well as a focus on bringing the outside in and harnessing natural elements.
Form Follows Function
As we know, the pandemic has shifted the way we live and work in fundamental ways. On any given day, a home may need to be a workplace, school, kitchen or relaxation area – all at the same time! The Clifton taps into that need with versatile, multi-functional spaces.
The home’s thoughtful design allows plenty of room to move, while still creating areas for retreat. Upstairs, a large rumpus room is an ideal spot to hang out and relax – or alternatively work. It features built-in joinery which can be used as a cupboard and vanity for the TV or can extend on a right angle to the front window to form a bench or desk.
Completely Adaptable
At Hall & Hart, we’re known for our versatility. We believe that every Australian family should have a home that perfectly suits their family’s lifestyle. That’s why we work closely with clients to tweak designs to their needs and the chosen piece of land.
Nick Rawson, one of Hall & Hart’s directors, says that the Clifton design is completely adaptable to different block width and depths. That makes it perfect for knockdown rebuild projects in the inner west of Sydney."
Clients can completely adapt the street view of the home, with nine different façades to choose from.
“The façade lends itself to a really bold modern theme,” says Nick Rawson. “However, the change to a more classical themed façade would open up great opportunities internally to play around with different styles and themes with the open plan layout.”
Beautiful Details
Stepping into the Clifton display home in Box Hill, one is immediately struck by the cohesive, calming interior design.
Every detail has been considered. For example, on the ground floor we have dropped the ceiling 50mm to allow for curtains and LED lighting to be hidden in ceiling junctions.
When it comes to designing your own home, our expert Interior Designers and Colour Consultants will work with you to achieve an aesthetic which flows throughout the entire house.
Hall & Hart have the edge over many builders in that we offer premium inclusions, allowing clients to choose from world-renowned brands without blowing their budget.
We offer extensive choices, such as top-of-the-line air conditioning, extended ceiling heights, engineered stone benchtops, beautiful flooring, and timber front doors, plus leading-edge designer kitchen appliances and an architectural lighting experience.
